Xinhua Beijing, October 22, according to the Wall Street Journal Chinese Internet Security sources said that Apple in http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/12536.html "> Mainland China's icloud services were attacked, Attackers may intercept and see user names, passwords, and other personal data. Apple then said in its official statement that the icloud server was not compromised.

Foreign media said concerns about icloud's services in China began to appear last weekend, and the source of the attack was uncertain.

The weekly Dawn test of Chinese Internet activists living in Taiwan found that communications between icloud users and icloud servers had been intercepted by attackers using "man-in-the-middle" tactics. In addition, Erik Hjelmvik, an analyst with Netresec AB, a Swedish network security software provider, said in Tuesday that he had assessed the data published online by Chinese internet users and had come to a similar conclusion.

Hjelmvik said it was clear that the attack was large. He says hackers have the ability to attack users in different parts of China, who use different internet providers. He said the attack was very complex and that they had apparently built a huge system for such a massive interception.

Analysts say the attack means unauthorized individuals or organizations will be able to decrypt the content of communications between icloud users and servers. This may cause the user name, password, file, picture, and contact person of the icloud user to be seen in an unencrypted manner.

In this respect, Apple posted a statement on its official website that the cyber attack did not damage the company's icloud server, nor did it affect the icloud logon through Safari browser on the MAC device running iOS mobile software or on the Macs running OS X Yosemite operating system.

Apple said that users should not log in to icloud.com if they received an alert message from the browser, which would be an unreliable site, meaning that user information has been stolen. (Beijing, the IT channel)
