Beijing time October 25 Evening News, IBM announced that the SmartCloud platform will be a new based on Apache Hadoop service--infosphere biginsights analysis software.
According to the introduction, the new service will have the basic version, free version and enterprise-level payment version. The free version can be used to learn how "big data Analysis" is implemented. For an enterprise-class payment version, IBM says anyone can start and run normally within 30 minutes. IBM's new Hadoop-based service is reminiscent of a recent IBM acquisition of a system software company called Platform Computing to enhance its competitiveness in the field.
Apache Hadoop has become a large data open source standard, using MapReduce algorithm to dynamic management of Cluster Server analysis of massive data. Apache Hadoop was originally launched by Yahoo, and later evolved into the Apache project and developed into an ecosystem with its own tools and related technologies.
Earlier this month, Oracle announced that its large data system, big appliance, would be able to support Hadoop, and Microsoft hinted that it would support Hadoop on the Azure cloud platform and Windows server. In addition, Amazon's elastic mapreduce cloud service is also based on Hadoop.
