One day http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/14166.html ">jennifer boriss--a user experience engineer for Firefox Come to a mall and randomly look for users to experience their new products. In a place where tech freaks are coming out of Silicon Valley, she expects to encounter a large number of computer geeks. Today, however, her first subject was Joe, a 60-year-old restaurant worker. So they started their conversation at the food court in the mall.
Their conversation began with Joe's previous experience with the Web. When Joe told Jennifer that he had never touched a computer, Jennifer was so excited that he knew nothing about the Internet, and it was also unbiased, instinctive, and perhaps more valuable than the Ashes-grade veteran.
First, Joe tried Microsoft's IE, the process was not smooth:
Jennifer: Joe, let's assume that you're sitting in front of a computer and trying to find a local restaurant to eat. ”
Joe: But I don't know how to do that? ”
Jennifer: "Why don't you go and order that button?" ”
Joe: What button? What's the point? I really don't know what to do, I thought it would prompt me to do something. :
Joe's user experience is similar to the MacBook-based Firefox, and Apple's Help menu only makes things more complicated, and ironically, the Help menu only makes you more confused when you're ignorant of the computer.
Fortunately, Joe has some progress on Google's Chrome browser. Joe successfully landed on the Yelp site by showing the history of the pages, but Joe decided to give up his quest to continue.
We could say it was Joe's fault, because the chances of finding such a person on the day when the grandparents were using the ipad were like finding people from the original Amazon tribe in the mall. However, this also gives us some inspiration, although all user experience is to emphasize simple and easy to use (apple), but for people without any computer background, this is a complete extraterrestrial world. All of our research, analysis, and design are based on the user has a certain degree of prior knowledge generated. For example, if a user has never used a disk, how can he instinctively react that the disk icon on Word represents a save?
In the end, Jennifer succeeded in setting up a Gmail account for Joe, at least Joe had not been hit too hard by the survey. When asked why he wanted a Gmail account, Joe explained that he had no way to register his favorite bakery card activity without an email account. At the very least, the legendary discounts have given Joe some comfort.
