Ma Quan One: Linux gentoo users, compile and upgrade obsessive-compulsive disorder patients, have used Python, Nodejs, now with Golang development.

Currently employed in Suzhou Cross-border Software Technology Co., Ltd., is responsible for the server side of the senior architect. In early 2014, it was responsible for setting up a new office and developing a platform for Docker technology aimed at helping developers to use Docker or Docker related services such as Private Repository, Web Ides, CI, etc.

CSDN: Please give a brief introduction to the Docker and Docker Chinese community.

Ma Quan: Docker is a dotcloud open source project, and then DotCloud Inc. also renamed Docker Inc., focusing on Docker development and Docker Eco-environment. The project in 2014 to get 5 million dollars in investment, Redhat and puppet VP also joined the Docker team. Docker is also one of the star projects in the Golang community.

The Docker Chinese community is Docker Inc., a community partner in China dedicated to Docker and related technologies and Docker meetup activities.

What does Csdn:docker have to do with Linux containers (LXC)? What's the difference from other virtual systems?

Ma Quan: Docker is based on LXC, which greatly enhances the ease of use of LXC. Docker is the so-called OS-level lightweight virtualization technology compared to full virtualization and semi virtualization. Traditional virtualization technology to build an environment for a very long time, for Docker start-up and destruction are second-level, and its underlying technology LXC (Linux containers) is completely kernel characteristics, without any middle-tier overhead, for resource utilization very high performance close to the physical machine. Of course because now Docker relies on LXC, you can only run it on Linux. Now Docker also supports Mac OS X, but it only uses VirtualBox to get a Linux virtual machine.

Ma Quan: Docker brings new solutions for cloud computing and large data, and will surely become one of the two key players in these areas.

The appearance of Docker makes it possible for the platform of Docker container and Docker container as carrier. Any backend service program can be encapsulated in a Docker container for sale, distribution, and deployment, and the backend developer can make a profit by doing its own product as mobile app developers do. This is also the goal of my work this year, to build a Docker ecosystem platform.

With the development of Golang, there will be a new large data platform with Golang as the development language and Docker as the carrier, and become a competitor of Hadoop platform.

Ma Quan: The current focus is on translation, original technical articles and the organization of Docker meetup activities.

Ma Quan: There are not many developers using Docker, and there is not much feedback. The good news is that there are already some developers who use Docker to contact us and contribute to our translation and original articles. We are a small, single technical community, to adhere to the quality of the article, and comprehensive community cooperation can better promote Docker.
