According to a Microsoft commissioned Harris Interactive Company to implement a http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/32268.html "> survey showed that among 1200 respondents, One-third (33%) Organizations plan to change their application environment from a traditional client-based-server model to one based on virtualization or cloud computing within the next two years. This study is intended to broadly identify global IT spending priorities.

Although the survey report is not comprehensive enough, it has found some promising facts. The IT spending budget has not been cut, and 98% per cent said they would maintain or increase the planned investment. Nearly two-thirds per cent of respondents said the economy had created a reason to invest in one or more technical areas. Virtualization, security, System management, and cloud computing are the areas of choice. Especially:

42% of respondents plan to increase their investment in virtualization.

36% per cent of respondents plan to increase their safety investments.

24% per cent of respondents plan to increase their systems management investments.

16% of respondents plan to increase cloud computing spending.

Given the current economic climate, the results of this survey report on spending priorities may be something you can anticipate. Security remains a major challenge. 73% of respondents said protecting consumer and user data was the top priority. Addition:

55% of respondents said the economy had changed the role of it in their institutions.

51% of respondents said budget cuts were the biggest obstacle to technological innovation.

Technological innovation has returned to its secondary position. In 2009, global companies typically spent 37% of their budget on technological innovation, and 63% of the budget was spent on sustaining operations.

However, Microsoft's vice president for Infrastructure server marketing, Bob Kelly, said at an online news conference that one of the most surprising aspects is that U.S. enterprise users have less budget for technology innovation and more budget to maintain their operations. In the United States, the amount of money spent on technology innovation is 29% of the budget, and it is used to maintain operating capital of 71% of the budget. By contrast, the ratio between Britain and Japan is 41%/59%. This proportion of Germany is 35%/65%.

Kelly said the United States was the worst hit by the economic crisis because of the low rate in the United States, but it also had the opportunity to become the fastest-recovering country. Of the IT Pros we surveyed, 70% of respondents thought their IT investments would drive sales growth and become a competitive advantage for the next three years.

The survey shows that one area with less investment is green it. While 84% per cent of respondents said they considered green when making decisions about data centers, only 44% said they considered green when deciding what to invest in. In other words, the survey shows that people like to consider eco-sensitive it choices, but these green technologies are too expensive to spend more money on green technology, at least in times of recession.
