Microsoft has just started selling its Azure cloud computing platform to its users this month.

Muglia says the revenue drivers for the transition period remain Windows Server and SQL Server. Although the name of the product is not explicitly identified, Muglia says that management, security, and development tools will be the growth area.

He also said that the virtualization of Windows servers and the new price structure are prompting more users to purchase premium Windows Server software, and sales of each server will drive revenue growth.

"In the last decade, the number of shipments to the enterprise server has been less than 10% of all server shipments," he said. This number is now over 20%. ”

Muglia said that Windows 7 had achieved good sales during the holiday season, but there was no peak in the business. However, he noted that Microsoft's communication with CIOs and business customers over the upgrade cycle from XP to Windows 7 shows that the peak will appear over the next three years.

Because Muglia does not mention Vista, Vista is not popular in the corporate marketplace and has been replaced by Windows 7.
