Cloud computing, 3G and IoT can be said to be the three new technologies that currently have the highest exposure rate. However, have you ever thought that there is a close inner relationship between them?
3G, is the abbreviation of English 3rd-generation, is the third generation mobile communication technology abbreviation. Unimpressed is a new generation of communication technology which combines wireless communication with the Internet, which is the cellular mobile communication technology supporting high-speed data transmission. At present, the International Telecommunication Union has identified three 3G standard formats: CDMA2000, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA. In China, the three different standard 3G networks are operated by Chinese Telecom, China Unicom and mobile. 3G is a representative feature of high-speed data transmission capabilities, to provide more than 2Mbps of bandwidth. Therefore, 3G can support voice, image, music, video, web, teleconferencing and other mobile multimedia services.
Internet of Things, English is the internet of the things, that is, "things connected to the Web." IoT through a large number of decentralized radio frequency identification (RFID), sensors, GPS, laser scanners and other small devices, will be aware of the information transmitted through the Internet to the designated processing facilities for intelligent processing, complete identification, positioning, tracking, monitoring and management work. Generally speaking, the internet of Things belongs to the category of the sensor network. In fact, the application of the sensor has a long history and is quite popular. So why the idea of the Internet of things? The Internet of Things is an advanced stage of the Sensor network, which collects information through a large number of information-aware nodes, transmits and exchanges information through the Internet, processes information through powerful computing facilities, and then sends feedback or control information to the physical world.
3G and cloud computing are interdependent and mutually facilitated. On the one hand, the 3G will bring hundreds of millions of broadband mobile users to cloud computing. By July 2009, Global Mobile subscribers had reached 4.4 billion and the penetration rate reached 65%. 3G users have exceeded 500 million and are growing at an alarming rate. 2009 is China's 3G year, the number of users over 10 million. These users ' terminals are mobile phones, PDAs, notebooks, netbooks and so on, with limited computing power and storage space, a strong networking capability, a natural need for cloud computing, and real support for business success in cloud computing, and cloud computing can provide a better user experience for 3G users. Cloud computing has powerful computing power, close to unlimited storage space, and supports a wide variety of software and information services to provide an unprecedented service experience for 3G users.
The Internet of things and cloud computing are also interactive relationships. On the one hand, the development of the Internet of things can not be separated from the support of cloud. From a quantitative perspective, the Internet will use a staggering number of sensors (such as billions of RFID, smart dust and video surveillance, etc.), the amount of data collected. This data needs to converge to some storage and processing facilities via wireless sensor networks, broadband Internet, and using cloud computing to carry these tasks has a very significant price/performance advantage; From a qualitative perspective, using cloud computing facilities to process, analyze and excavate these data can be more rapid, accurate, Intelligent management and control of the physical world, so that people can more timely and meticulous management of the material world, so as to achieve "wisdom" of the state, greatly improve the resource utilization and social productivity level. It can be seen that cloud computing by virtue of its powerful processing capacity, storage capacity and very high performance price ratio, it will naturally become the background of the Internet of Things to support the platform; On the other hand, the IoT will become the biggest user of cloud computing, laying the foundation for greater business success in cloud computing.
