On Adobe Max, a global developer conference at Adobe, Adobe Systems and Qualcomm announced that as part of the Open screen project, both sides are teaming up to optimize and significantly improve Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Performance on Qualcomm's smart phones and smart-Ben chipsets. The first batch of consumer terminals to support Flash Player 10.1 will include smartphones and smart books from companies such as Toshiba, based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset. Flash Player's beta version is available by the end of this year, with more products in the Qualcomm product portfolio supporting Flash Player 10.1. Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is the first browser-based operating environment from the open screen project to provide a consistent operating environment for an excellent web browsing experience for expressive applications, content, and high-definition video. Flash Player 10.1, released today at the Adobe Max Convention, leverages the power of the GPU on the supported terminals (such as Snapdragon with an integrated high-performance graphics kernel) to achieve accelerated video and graphics processing while protecting battery life and resource utilization. "Adobe has a long term relationship with Qualcomm, one of the first participants in the Open screen project," said David Wadhwani, vice president and general manager of Adobe's platform business. Through Adobe Flash technology, the preferred platform for online video transmission, the Qualcomm chipset portfolio, including innovative Snapdragon, will bring the latest and most innovative web browsing experience created using the Flash platform for the next generation of smartphones and smart books. "Qualcomm has been committed to bringing a richer multimedia experience to mobile terminals, and Adobe's Flash platform technology will be an important part of our ongoing effort in this direction," said Rob Chandhok, vice president of software strategy at Qualcomm CDMA Technology Group. As mobile terminals become the main way to connect to the Internet, our collaboration with Adobe will help our end-manufacturer customers deliver more attractive and full-featured products to the market. "Qualcomm's chipset portfolio includes a wide range of industry-leading, highly integrated solutions that support more lightweight, stylish, high-end-enabled end products, redefining the likelihood of mobile terminals." The company's product line, including the Snapdragon platform, integrates mobile processing performance, optimized power consumption, ubiquitous connectivity, and powerful multimedia capabilities into a single chip as never before. Snapdragon supports smarter smartphones and new product category Smart books with the best experience of smartphones. Smart This one-time charge can be used throughout the day, providing permanent connectivity, instant power-on features and customizable and intuitive interface-all of these features are integrated in a large display screen terminal.
