Samsung announces milestone breakthrough in 14nm FinFET process development

Samsung said that compared to the current 32/28nm HKMG process, the 14nm FinFET technology will further improve the SOC chip leakage rate and dynamic power consumption.

Samsung's 14nm FinFET process Design kit has been made available to customers and the design of the product can begin immediately, but Samsung has not disclosed when it will invest in mass production.

Perhaps Samsung's all this will have nothing to do with Apple. On the road to Samsung, Apple is highly likely to select TSMC, which is also trying to woo Apple to build a new factory to launch a 16nm process.
