Seagate Official statement: Hard drive supply fault will continue for several quarters

According to media reports, the impact of the Thai floods began in July this year, Zhongguancun hard disk prices rose for four consecutive months, some models of hard drives up nearly one times. Seagate, the world's leading hard disk manufacturer, has issued an official statement to Tencent technology that the supply fault will continue for several quarters, and Seagate will assist external component suppliers to repair the supply chain as soon as possible.

Thailand flood Condition statement

As you may know, Thailand's severe floods have caused many misfortunes to local families and businesses. So far, Seagate's factories in Thailand are operating normally. As stated in the first quarter conference call, our production is not limited by the ability of internal components to supply or assemble products, but is affected by the supply of some external components. So Seagate expects industry demand to be much larger than supply for at least the second quarter, and the supply fault will continue for several quarters.

Our current focus is: 1. Assist external component suppliers to repair the supply chain as soon as possible; 2. Work with customers to adjust their strategies to align their immediate and long-term needs with our production capacity. Therefore, we will adjust production planning and product manufacturing capabilities to fully support our suppliers and customers.
