1, size

The text entered in this box is about 10.5 points by default. The title is so important that it's a little bit less than 10.5 pounds as the default font. If the default font for the body editor is 11-pound words, the title bar is at least 12 points. Naturally, the height of this box should be adjusted accordingly.

The problem embodied here: the important, the strengthening, unimportant, weakening. There are a lot of ways to strengthen it, and it's just one of them, and it's probably a relatively appropriate one here.

2, Width

How wide should the blog title bar be made? This is a very interesting decision. Let's analyze what factors it is subject to.

A, from a visual angle, the width of the title bar should not exceed the body width

Because if the user actually writes a large percentage of more than 35 characters, the user will experience worse by not seeing all the titles he writes.

This is a good solution, random grab a group of blog title data, do a sampling analysis on the line. According to my estimate, 35 Chinese characters, can cover more than 99% of the blog title bar.

The current editor title bar width, can enter 29 characters. Maybe 29 characters can also cover a high percentage of the blog title. But I still feel cramped.

3, Upper Limit

The title length of the space is capped by 50 characters. and whether the 50 characters are reasonable or not. Because of 50>35, if the user input 40 characters, it means that the user can not see the whole title, this is a bad experience. How to solve the problem of 第36-40个 Chinese character display?

Very simply, the text box is designed to wrap automatically. The 36th character automatically wraps to the second line, and the text box automatically expands into two lines. This will make the user feel very practical, because all the input is visible.

How is the upper limit determined? is still based on statistics. Or take a conservative first, on the line and then according to user behavior data statistics make more appropriate adjustments.

Here's the problem: Let me "innovate" the automatic expansion of the input box to solve the problem of input display, I find it difficult; but I saw other people's practices, I suddenly realized that the wonderful taste.

4, error

If I enter more than 50 characters, the editor does not make any prompts. When I published the article, the editor told me that the title is limited to 50 Chinese characters, please change it and send it again.

Since there are 50 Chinese characters, why not give a hint when I enter more than 50 characters, and prohibit more unnecessary input?

Here is the problem: timely give the user guidance, don't wait for him to be tired, then tell him, you go into a dead end.
