Flexible configuration of storage schemas. Storage, which is one of the most vulnerable to oversupply and cost in IT environments. Buying redundant hard drives to solve the I/O problem is more of a temporary solution than a solution. So be smart with storage. EMC's CLARiiON sans use SSD solid-state drives to receive specialized workloads, such as I/o-intensive. This technology reduces the need for redundant hard drives. And I've mentioned that NetApp's Flashcache can offload the heavy Virtual Desktop infrastructure (VDI) load and make the existing hard drive service more users.
But there is a point where IT managers can bring new technology into the data center-even into the transformation of the economy. But the real challenge is how to apply to management. As an IT professional, we certainly know the importance of infrastructure, but people outside the IT field are less concerned about it.
For example, old servers are expensive, need more money to manage, and their densities are not as good as the servers they now have. If IT managers want to bring any technology into their IT environment, they first have to be able to demonstrate their short-term and long-term financial returns.
The Cisco UCS Blade chassis can save money by removing old loads and servers and moving applications and users to smaller but more dynamic environments. This is very effective for cost savings in energy consumption, space utilization, and manageability. Long-term cost savings involve fast hardware provisioning, and IT departments need to better handle the volatility of business policies. Other examples include the configuration of VDI to offload a large amount of desktop hardware footprint, the implementation of cloud preparation techniques to improve business size, and the use of virtualization to remove old loads.
