According to Bloomberg reports, Tesla Motors was sued for trademark infringement in China, while Chinese traders accounted for the registration of Tesla trademark before the U.S. electric car giant entered the Chinese market. Bloomberg quoted his petition filed in Beijing on July 3 saying that Zhan Bao Sheng asked Tesla to close its motor showrooms, service centers and pressurization facilities in China; stop all sales and marketing activities in China; and pay him 23.9 million yuan of compensation.

The Daily Economic News reporter found on the website of China Trademark that the applicant owns a total of 7 registrations under the name of Po Sang, including TESLA MOTORS, TELSA, TESLA, TESLA, Tesla and others. Bloomberg quoted Tesla spokesman Simon Sproule as saying that the company has not received or seen the petition and that the prosecution of Po Sang will never stop Tesla from operating in China.
