In the second quarter of this year, 84% of Yahoo employees recognised Ms. Mayer's leadership, according to Glassdoor of the job site, compared with 91% when Mayer first entered Yahoo in the third quarter of 2012. Glassdoor said it had reached this conclusion by studying anonymous comments from 179 Yahoo employees on its website.
Ms. Mayer is trying to boost the morale of her staff, hoping to build new apps and services that will save users and advertisers who have been robbed of Google and Facebook. By some measures, such as free food and extended leave, she has achieved an average of 85% in the past three quarters, but the downward trend suggests that Ms. Mayer's passion for employees has waned.
The criticism of Mayer's leadership style includes the company's recruitment approval process--glassdoor said the process now averages 22 days, compared to 8 days a year ago when Ms. Mayer was not in the job.
One of the Glassdoor users, who claimed to be Yahoo's business manager, complained that Ms. Mayer's decision to ask all Home Office staff to return to work in February was inhuman.
In the second quarter, Ms. Mayer was less popular among her employees than Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, the young social-networking site's CEO with a 90% approval, and Google page's popularity of 98%,linkedin Jeff Winner (Jeff Weiner) was 89%.
As for Yahoo itself, Ross Levinson Ross Levinsohn, its former interim chief executive, has reached a 76% per cent popularity among its employees, after Ms. Mayer. Levinson before Scott Thompson (Scott Thompson) was 48%. Timothy Moss (Timothy Morse) and Bartz were 42% and 54% respectively.
Glassdoor's figures show that Yahoo employees are now more satisfied than they were when Thompson and Bartz were employed. The degree of recognition of these CEOs has also fallen after their arrival in the post.
