The US is expected to allow some of the low-risk small business to be unmanned by November this year

As is well known, the United States currently does not allow any commercial drones to fly in U.S. airspace. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced today that it would speed up the legislative process for commercial drones, and it is expected to offer proposals in November this year to allow small drones to be used in agriculture, film shooting and other low-risk practices.

If the proposal is passed, the United States will allow 55 lbs (25 kg) of drones to be used in film shooting, agricultural watering, fertilization and other low-risk uses. The bill on other types of commercial drones is expected to be introduced next year.

There is no doubt that the acceleration of the legislative process is related to lobbying by the American community. Hollywood has lobbied the White House for two consecutive years, hoping to allow the use of drones for aerial filming, reducing the cost of filmmaking. Amazon and UPS, which are studying the delivery of drones, also apparently want to see the process of commercial drone legislation speeding up.
