Liu Baohua: Cloud computing has set off another wave of it technology development. Into the era of cloud computing, People's lifestyles, business operations, and even the whole world of interaction will be fundamentally changed. What do you think of this shift?

Tian: Cloud computing will bring about three major changes: cloud computing will greatly reduce the overall cost of ownership of it, the previous price per TB storage is twenty thousand or thirty thousand Yuan, now may only be two thousand or three thousand yuan, the previous container data center price may be 200 million or 300 million yuan, now the price of the cloud box is about 20 million or 30 million yuan, Cloud computing will benefit every ordinary person; the advent of cloud computing will revolutionize the IT infrastructure; in the past, the Internet was full of fragments of information, but in the cloud, the messy information was edited, combed, and easily searchable, The application model of cloud computing will play an important role in the development of informatization and the transformation and promotion of enterprise business.

In the past, technology and services were separate, and users were concerned about whether they could buy a desirable server. In the era of cloud computing, technology and services are closely related, no one will care what kind of chips in the cloud box, hard disk. Cloud computing will break through the limitations of traditional technology architectures and bring about dramatic changes in applications and business models.

Liu Baohua: There are a lot of companies involved in cloud computing, but most of them are just a few, and it's hard to build a mature business model, and it's also difficult to use cloud computing technology to integrate all the backend resources. The business of the cloud industry chain you are working on is also challenging. What was your intention to create a cloud base?

Tian: When I was working at Asia Telecom and Netcom, I saw telecoms operators making unremitting efforts to avoid plumbing, and internet makers were also painstakingly trying to achieve different business models on the Web. At that time, some internet manufacturers proposed not only to provide voice and data services on the Internet, but also to provide storage and computing services. But at that time by the technology and application conditions, people can not put the server, software and so on together, computing and storage resource pooling is only a good wish.

2001, I met with Yahoo's Jerry Yang. Although Yahoo and Netcom's joint venture did not make it, but I and Jerry Yang himself became a good friend. Later I left Netcom to invest, but the idea of doing something on the internet has been lingering. When chatting with Jerry Yang, he gave me an example: Previously, the operating system can only manage a machine, when the cloud appears, the operating system can manage dozens of units, hundreds of thousands of machines. After virtualization, computing and storage resources become distributed and very inexpensive. In the era of cloud computing, the chips changed, the operating system changed, the storage changed, and the value of computing changed. Inspired by this concept, I was involved in the field of cloud computing and started my third venture.

The goal of cloud computing cannot be achieved by one's own power, and at my age it is impossible to be in the forefront. So, I use my experience in investment, using investment tools, hope to build a cloud industry chain. The construction of cloud industry chain can not be separated from government support. I use the advantages of capital to build up the enterprise, the government departments in policy, office space and related facilities to give us strong support, which makes the cloud base soon established. Only more than a year, the cloud base staff has exceeded 1000 people.

Operating Enterprise for so many years, I have a experience, that is must do a see touch of things, that is, so that enterprises in a short period of time to obtain benefits, and then into a balance of the virtuous development cycle. What kind of cloud computing products can you do? Finally, we decided to establish a joint venture with the United States Ultra Micro (SUPERMICRO) company Beijing World Super Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Heaven and Earth Super Cloud), the main cloud server products. Our cloud server has been introduced by a lot of users, such as Taobao, China Telecom, China Mobile, the National grid and so have adopted our cloud server.

The cloud server is just a node in the cloud industry chain, and the software is another important node. It is in this context, Beijing Friends Tianyu System Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Friends of the system) stationed in the cloud base. After the hardware and software is complete, the Cloud Box data center solution launches also to be logical. After this, we created the Beijing Sky Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as days Cloud technology), dedicated system integration. At this point, a cloud computing industry chain embryonic form has emerged.

Someone may not understand why I have to gather so many companies in one building. In fact, the truth is very simple, so that we can facilitate the exchange of people. From an investor's point of view, I would like to make a combination of software, hardware, system integration, services, etc. are integrated. Vertical integration

Liu Baohua: For cloud computing, many vendors, including HP, IBM, and so on, are making vertical integration of products, and servers, storage, networks and even software are all integrated, which has become a trend. What do you think of this trend?

Tian: An emerging industry in the early stages of development, must do vertical integration, software and hardware integration is an example. At the business level, the cloud base is both vertically integrated and ensures that companies operate independently.

The cloud base now has three core support points, including operating systems, infrastructure and hardware. Next, we will also carefully evaluate the need for cloud storage, chips or switching devices. The biggest change in cloud computing is the change in application. With the advent of a variety of new application patterns, IT infrastructure and the shape of the end product can be changed. Software and hardware integration of products can allow users to get a better application experience.

Liu Baohua: Some people think that the cloud-oriented server should be universal, standardized, and do not have to specifically customize the server for cloud applications. Cloud base built after the most the product is the cloud server. How do you see the commonality and customization of cloud servers?

Tian: The cloud server is a specific purpose product, that is, a custom-oriented server for cloud applications. Many large Internet vendors use custom servers, and traditional server vendors typically do not offer this customized service. Customized server can be based on the needs of users timely changes to the product. This is not common server.

High-performance computing, video, search and other applications require different types of servers. Servers are like engines. In the mainframe era and the internet age, both cars and airplanes may use the same engine, and in the era of cloud computing, different engines are used for dissimilar applications. In the future, there will be more kinds of "engines" appearing.

At the beginning of the development of the cloud server is still evolving. In the future, the shape of the server can change a lot. Cloud server to go first vertical integration, and then horizontally expand the development path. Vertical integration can help cloud servers find a precise customer base, while horizontal scaling can effectively reduce the cost of cloud servers and expand the scale of applications.

Previously, the server market was monopolized by several big manufacturers, and in the era of cloud computing, the monopoly would be completely broken. With the support of the government, cloud base is setting up a production base with an annual output of 500,000 servers. Our goal is to build Asia's largest server production base.

Find the Application Gripper

Liu Baohua: The key to Cloud landing is to find the application of the breakthrough. At present, the cloud base already has the relatively complete cloud product line, in the future in the cloud application aspect to have what plan?

Tian: Finding a breakthrough in cloud applications is also a question we have been thinking about. Our strategy can be summed up in the following three areas. First, from the system integration, to play the power of cloud technology, to explore some of the most suitable for cloud applications. Second, cloud computing and mobile internet are mutual infiltration. In the future, mobile terminals and cloud how to combine, is through the way of SMS, or SNS way, these are worth pondering. I want to make an investment fund for cloud application, such as investment 50~100 Small enterprise, mainly explore the application of intelligent terminal. These applications must be cloud-based. It is important for us to find some simple applications that are suitable for the cloud. I believe that some good cloud ideas come from small companies. Liu Baohua: Both in the personal consumer market and in the enterprise market, the application store model has been sought after by manufacturers, Apple App Store, Google Android harsh, HP App catalog is the most typical example. What are the ideas of cloud base in the innovation of business model?

Tian: We now often use the following three types of business models. The first is that we want to find a company that has a strong technical capability to do cloud applications, but it lacks capital, manpower, or a huge infrastructure that supports its application development. This kind of enterprise is our ideal partner, such as friend system is such a typical. We can provide this kind of enterprise with a broad development platform, let it grow faster. Second, if you can't find a suitable enterprise, and a product or a certain kind of business is what we have to do, then we can only do it ourselves, such as cloud technology is such a typical. Third, if the first two methods do not work, then we will consider cooperation with foreign manufacturers, such as the sky and the cloud is such a typical. Of course, we prefer the first business model.

In the next 3-4 years, there will be a big explosion of cloud applications in the industry. We need to find one or more "killer" apps that give full play to the benefits of cloud computing in terms of price, scalability, availability, and energy efficiency.

Liu Baohua: Now, what is the biggest challenge for the cloud base? Next, what is the cloud base want to achieve a new breakthrough?

Tian: Cloud computing in order to achieve rapid development, the cloud industry chain of all parties must unity, change the concept. This is the biggest challenge we face.

Liu Baohua: On the cloud computing platform, software management can become very complex. What are the software development plans for the cloud base?

Tian: I have a deep software complex. When I was working in Asia, many of my colleagues worked with me to do software development. Software development is really difficult, but at every important technological turning point, some epoch-making software is developed by several people. For example, Hadoop is developed by 11 of people, and it is now a standard in the industry.
