Wi-Fi is a wireless network communication technology brand, held by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The goal is to improve interoperability between wireless network products based on the IEEE 802.11 standard (the common standard for wireless LANs). Often mistaken for the shorthand of wireless fidelity.
Currently released by the Wi-Fi Alliance certification types are:
WPA/WPA2:WPA/WPA2 is a test procedure established by a single mode, dual-mode or dual-frequency product based on IEEE 802.11a,802.11b,802.11g. The content includes authentication of communication protocol, authentication of wireless network security mechanism, and network transmission performance and compatibility test.
WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) when multimedia through wireless network transmission, how to verify the mechanism of its bandwidth assurance is normal operation in different wireless network devices and different security settings is the purpose of WMM testing.
WMM Power Save: How to extend battery life by managing standby time for wireless networking devices when multimedia is delivered over a wireless network, and without affecting its functionality, can be validated through WMM power Save tests.
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) This is a 2007-year early release of the certification, the purpose is to allow consumption in a simpler way to set wireless network devices, and ensure a certain degree of security. WPS currently allows access via Pin Input config (pin), Push Button Config (PBC), USB Flash Drive Config (UFD), and near Field communication contactless Token Config (NFC) to set up (Configure) wireless network devices.
ASD (creator specific Device) This is for wireless network devices that have special applications other than wireless network access points (access point) and platform (redevelop), such as DVD players, projectors, printers ... Wait a minute.
CWG (converged Wireless Group) is primarily a test program for RF partial measurements of the Wi-Fi mobile converged devices.
