This article describes what should you do if you got COVID-19 symptoms and if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, what should you do to protect the safety of your family.
Who should take the COVID-19 test?
• Usually only patients who are hospitalized for severe illnesses like pneumonia should be tested. Limiting the number of people who can be tested can protect medical staff and save necessary medical supplies, such as masks and gloves that are now in short supply. If you have not been infected with the pathogenic virus of
COVID-19, limiting the number of people tested can also protect you from infection.
• At this moment, if you have symptoms, assume that you have contracted
COVID-19. A positive test result does not change the doctor's order to tell you how to make yourself better. The best practice is to stay at home.
What should I do if I have symptoms of COVID-19? Should I seek a test or seek medical attention?
• Suppose you are already infected with
COVID-19!
• If you have mild to moderate symptoms, stay at home. By staying at home, you can reduce the possibility of infecting others (including medical staff who need to care for critically ill patients). Staying at home, make sure to leave medical resources to those most in need, so you can save the life of another New Yorker. Stay at home and take care of others.
• Except for necessary medical treatment or purchase of necessities (such as food), please do not leave home. • Do not go to school or work, even if you are a necessary industry worker as defined by the New York State Government.
• If you are 50 years old or older, pregnant or suffering from other diseases (including lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, heart disease, weakened immune system, obesity, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease or cancer), please consult your Doctors. The doctor may want to monitor your condition more closely.
• If your symptoms worsen or do not resolve after three or four days, please consult your health care provider. Before visiting a healthcare provider, please call, text, or use your patient platform to contact them first. if possible,

• If any of the following symptoms occur, seek medical attention immediately:
o Difficulty breathing
o Sustained pain or chest pressure
o New consciousness is confused or unable to stay awake
o Blue lips or face

I have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have COVID-19 symptoms. What should I do to protect my family?
• Keep a distance of at least 6 feet from everyone in the house — keeping the distance is the best way to protect others.
• If you are not able to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from others, please wear a nose and mouth covering at home.
• If available, please use a separate toilet. If you share the bathroom with others, every time you use it,
Sterilize the touched surface.
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• When sneezing or coughing, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or sleeves. Do not block sneezing or coughing with your hands. Throw away the tissue immediately and wash your hands.
• Clean frequently contacted surfaces, such as countertops, door handles, bathroom fittings, and telephones. Clean it once after each use, or at least once a day. Use household cleaning sprays or wet tissues.
• Never share personal household items such as glasses, tea cups, cutlery and towels with family members.
• Do not accept guests.
What if I am sick and have to leave home?
• If you need to go out to see a doctor or buy medicine or food, please:
o Make sure to keep a distance of at least 6 feet from others—distance is the best way to protect others.
o Wear coverings to cover your nose and mouth.
o Wash your hands before going out; use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when going out; cover yourself with your arm or tissue when coughing or sneezing

I was diagnosed with COVID-19, or I was previously ill and may have COVID-19. How long must I stay at home?
• If you are diagnosed with infection or may be infected with
COVID-19, you can leave home only if all the following conditions are met:
o At least 7 days have passed since the symptoms started.
o Without the use of antipyretics such as Tylenol or ibuprofen, you have never had a fever, or have not had a fever within the last three days.
o Your overall condition has improved.
• Remember: even if you feel better, stay at home as much as possible, only when you need to supplement food and other necessities

• Feeling overwhelmed, sad, anxious and fearful, or experiencing other symptoms of anxiety (eg difficulty falling asleep)
