Zynga's major games, lost a part of the peak when users
According to Beijing News, foreign media reported. By the end of last week, the number of active users of Zynga, the gaming developer, had declined continuously this month, and the rate of decline was MAU. Last week, the company lost nearly 5.9 million Mau, accounting for 2.4% of the total number of users. Currently, Zynga has a total of about 238 million users.
Zynga's user churn is on the rise after a week-mau decline of 4.2 million, compared with 3.1 million per cent for the week ended May 1. Last week, in Zynga's main game, Treasure Island (Treasure Island) is still the only game to increase the number of users. Treasure Island's 900,000 increase in the last week was not much higher than the 6.7 million increase of three weeks ago. Zynga's current 238 million Mau is down 5% from its peak in mid-April.
"Virtual Farm" (Farmville) is Zynga's biggest game and the most-lost Zynga game last week, with users losing 2.3 million to 75.5 million. The number of users in the game has dropped by 7.7 million, down 9%, relative to the highest value in early April. In all Zynga games, the "Fishing village" (FishVille) is the most serious loss relative to the peak users of the game, compared to last December 26.2 million Mau, the game's Mau lost 9.6 million, down 37%. Despite the increasing number of Treasure Island users, the Mau of Zynga's other 7 major games are below peak values.
It is noteworthy that the Mau loss is not just happening to Zynga. Last week, all the big game developers except Mindjolt suffered Mau loss. In addition, Facebook's 11-strong parade developers ' Mau were also lower than the previous months ' highs. The decline was also varied, with playdom falling by only 1.7% per cent, thanks to the growth of urban life, where Mindjolt's users tumbled 37%. The 11-strong parade developers averaged 11% per cent against the peak, a twice-fold decline in Zynga's 5.2% overall. Zynga's share is still growing in the market share of the 11-strong parade developers, which reached a record high of 53.5% per cent this week, with a total of 445 million Mau--11, while Zynga accounted for 238 million. Although the Mau of Zynga's 7-strong parade is down 31 million from its peak, "Treasure Island" has increased by 27 million Mau in the past six weeks.
The loss of users of the big Facebook game developers is caused by a variety of reasons. The first is the seasonal factor, because people prefer to go out in spring than in winter. Industry insiders believe that Facebook has a greater impact on game notification information and the change in gift requests. At the same time, new/small game developers are attracting more and more new users. The fastest-growing games last week included Iwin's "family Confrontation" (accessibility feud, adding 900,000 Mau), Watercooler's Camelot Kingdom (Kingdom of Camelot, adding 500,000 Mau), and nightclub city's Nightclub city, add 500,000 Mau. In addition, another factor in user churn is "game fatigue", as social gaming does not create user loyalty like Wow.
Despite the decline in the number of users, the industry continues to believe that social gaming is the next major force in the gaming industry and is at an early stage of development. The future success of the leading gaming companies, such as Zynga, EA, Playdom and Crowdstar, depends on whether they can evolve in the ever-changing gaming industry and provide new gaming experiences for users. The industry also believes that Zynga's sheer size is an intrinsic market advantage, and that it will continue to create growth miracles like Treasure Island and will remain the dominant player in social gaming.
