Flex Viewer analysis (1) Introduction to flex Viewer

Flex viewer is short for ArcGIS viewer for Flex. The 1.x version is named sample flex viewer, and is renamed as ArcGIS viewer for flex from 2.0. Flex viewer is a WebGIS application based on ArcGIS API for Flex (AGS flex API for short). Version 1.x is based on flex3 and version 2.x is based on flex4. The latest version is 2.3. The flex viewer version is updated with the update of the AGS flex API, and the version number is consistent with the version number. Each version of flex viewer reflects the new features and new features of its corresponding version of AGS flex API. At the same time, flex viewer itself will be updated and improved to a certain extent in each version.

Flex viewer has two versions available for download on its official website (see the appendix in this section). One is for a non-developer version, that is, the compiled release version. Based on the release version, you can modify the configuration file to display your basemap and business layers through the flex viewer, and various functions such as query, positioning, and space analysis are implemented through the widgets provided by Flex viewer. Another version is for the developer's source code. After downloading the source code, the developer can import it to the Flash Builder development environment, you can modify the configuration file, custom UI, and custom widgets to meet specific business requirements. Currently, a certain number of online systems have been developed based on flex viewer, such as the Liaoning Provincial geographic information public service platform (see the appendix of this section ).
