The internet is a great place for someone to make their fortune but to be secretive. It is now impossible that you will be able to reach the top of the search engine without first withholding your way through a group of competitors. Tips to make this journey easier for you to educate your competitors and take advantage of any opportunities you discover.
A competitor known to be
If your site does not have a unique idea, you may already know a couple of other businesses that do what you are doing. For example, if you are starting a Web design company, you can quickly search and Google see, easily over 1 million of sites, but that does not mean it is impossible for you as well as rankings. Alexa's team is a completely different beast. A website can rank 100000, and you may rank 800000, but your site is likely to get more traffic than others. This is because Alexa data collection users who have decided to install the Alexa toolbar browser. Therefore, if a site has a group of Alexa users, frequent site, the site will artificially raise. If the Alexa rankings are in the top 100000 there is a considerable amount of data collected, you can be more confident in the Alexa results.
How many contacts do they have?
Now that you know which of your competitors are the strongest, you need to find out how they get so strong. Do google search site name (please make sure to do the form of search "domain.com", not just "domain", eliminate many false results). The results will show a rough amount of how much contact your competitor has. If it's a huge number, sit down and take a breath, and let's see how you're going to compete.
You can also use Links: commands (search Google for the form "Links: domain.com") and link popularity checks to see the big Web site's engine. All of these tools are accurate, but if you use some sources, you have a very good idea of competitors ' pages.
Decide to fight or run away
Now that you've seen some rough estimate of the strength of the main competitor, it's time to take a real look at the future of your work. Do you have the chance to compete with the big boys? Is there anything big about the boy and all you need is a short contact to beat your competitor?
