Sina Science and technology news Beijing time August 31 morning, Wall Street analysts said Intel could cut capital-equipment spending this year and 2012, given weak PC demand. C.j.muse, a Barclays Capital analyst, said in Tuesday that Intel had removed its Fab 24 wafer factory in Lexlips, Ireland, from its 22 nm roadmap, and it was unclear whether Intel would make Fab 24 of 22 of nano-devices are being transferred to Arizona, State or other Israeli factories in the United States. "It is unclear whether Intel will transfer capacity to other plants such as Israel or whether it is an Intel capital spending reduction plan," said Moose. "Moose believes Intel will decide in the second week of September whether to send the equipment to another plant or to put it offline." Intel has not publicly stated that it will develop 22 nm chips in fab 24 plants. Intel has also previously included 22 nm in Oregon State's two development plants, Israeli fab 28, Arizona, State Fab 32 and Fab 12 factory plans. An Intel spokesman confirmed in Tuesday that they now have no intention of converting fab 24 into a 22-chip manufacturing facility. But Moose believes the weakness in PC sales over the past few months has led many to believe Intel will lower its revenue forecasts for the three quarter. Moose said the lower inventory of sales channels and strong demand in the server market would result in Intel's three quarterly revenue expected to reach the lower end of the guidance forecast, which is expected to earn 60-65 cents per share. Intel had previously estimated a three-quarter revenue of $13.5145 trillion. (Xiao Ming)
