Kallasvuo, Nokia's newly appointed president and CEO, said on its official website today that the board had resigned Elop as the new president and CEO, and Elop will take office on September 21. Elop is currently president of Microsoft's Business software division.  Before joining Microsoft, Elop served in several U.S. companies, including Juniper NX, Adobe and Macromedia.  Nokia also said Kallasvuo would receive 4.6 million euros in severance payments. The Nokia board believes Stephen has the industry's experience and leadership to achieve all of Nokia's potential. Kallasvuo has been a member of the Nokia Executive Board since 1990. Before joining Nokia, he held a series of positions at the Union Bank of Finland.
