Taptu, a mobile search company, has just released a report saying the mobile internet is likely to be decided by a Cross-platform browser, rather than a proprietary mobile app developed for a mobile platform. They called the former "mobile Touch Web", commonly referred to as a Web site specifically designed for mobile touchscreen devices. Easy finger operation, the page is very simple, fast loading, suitable for mobile phone network.
TAPTU is expected to have 326,000 mobile touchscreen sites in stark contrast to 148,000 iphone apps and 24,000 Android apps, and browser-based mobile sites will grow faster than mobile apps.

19% browser-based Mobile sites are shopping and service sites, while Apple software stores share only 3.6% of the same software. Other "social" mobile sites are also more than "social" software (12.9% to 1.7%). But there are only 0.8% mobile sites for gaming sites, and Apple software stores have 18% of game software. Similar phenomena exist in the entertainment software.

It seems that commercial sites can use mobile browser platforms more than entertainment and gaming sites. Taptu that this is because most business products are less suited to itunes's content-oriented payment system. At the same time, entertainment and gaming content are more easily embodied in software, as software can provide a richer interactive experience.
TAPTU says mobile web sites on mobile browsers are becoming more popular, one reason is that mobile browsers are becoming more complex. Taptu mentions HTML 5.
TAPTU does not show that the game will continue to dominate on platforms such as the iphone, but says that for most other types of software, software deployment and open economic features are good for web development routes.
