Sina Science and technology news Beijing time of March 26, announced in Wednesday, plans to make Chrome browser support pointer events standards, resulting in better scrolling effect, and improve the support of touch operations.
The Pointer events standard was initially applied to IE browsers. Microsoft, Mozilla and Opera have all adopted the pointer Events. Previously, Google focused on its support for the touch events, which had previously been used in Safari browsers. Google says it plans to make this adjustment to chrome browsers based on feedback from the user community. Through pointer Events, rolling and touch interaction will be greatly optimized. Google's Rick Bairs (Rick Byers) admits that replacing touch events with pointer events will solve a long-standing problem. However, Chrome users will not see this change immediately. Google will need some time to support the pointer Events and test them in daily and weekly versions of iterations. However, it is gratifying that Google supports this standard. Although Google and Microsoft are divided over privacy policy, Windows phone version of YouTube and other issues, two companies have collaborated on the browser technology. Byers said that in the process of introducing the pointer events by the Chrome team, "The Jacquebo Rossi of the IE team (Jacob Rossi) gave a lot of help". While there are still some technical hurdles, Google says it can support both standards without causing performance problems. (Chu Yue)
