Data center managers can save 20% of the cost of a catalog price by focusing on the purchasing process of an FBI or converged infrastructure solution, Weiss said. "Typically, the purchase contract for a converged solution is around 200~300 million dollars, which means that even saving only 10% of the cost can save 20~30 million." ”

The 11 cost-saving steps proposed by Weiss include avoiding too much reliance on a particular vendor, ensuring that the sourcing experts are not bypassed, and paying more attention to the details of individual product discounts.
