After a year of fighting, Mozilla's Firefox operating system finally gained lizhuizhide in the competitive smartphone market. The next challenge for this browser-based mobile operating system will be to expand this lizhuizhide into a foothold. The correctness of the lower end line the hard development of the BlackBerry operating system, Microsoft Windows Phone and Samsung Tizen has proved that it is not easy to find a living space in the market of mobile operating systems where Apple iOS and Google (Weibo) are dominant. However, Mozilla succeeded by focusing on the ultra low-end smartphone market and working with operators. They have proved the correctness of the lower end line. Nick Dillon, an analyst at Ovum, a marketing research firm, says it is a smart place to bring networks and data to the first users of smartphones and to buy functional handsets through emerging markets. If they try to fight a sophisticated smartphone platform at a higher price, they will be crushed. Mozilla's Firefox operating system was supported by a large number of operators and handset makers at the global Mobile show in Barcelona last year (Mobile World Congress). But so far, only a handful of handset makers have started selling Firefox handsets. So at this year's show, Mozilla will need to show more new handsets and new markets to prove its progress. This progress is a necessary condition for Mozilla to achieve Firefox's operating system goals. It does not want to fortified people into an ecosystem such as Apple's iphone, IOS, App Store and itunes, or the ecosystem of Google's Android, Google Play and online services. For the mobile market, the Firefox operating system is basically a brand new. As market research firm Gartner has not yet started to estimate the sales of Firefox handsets, it is hard to say exactly how it has behaved. But telefonica--, the wireless operator of Mozilla's top partner, was pleased: Last year, the Firefox operating system accounted for 12% of all smartphone sales in Venezuela, accounting for more than 8% of all of Colombia's smartphone sales. The network is the key to the Mozilla company strategy. Firefox is running a Web application that is written using network technology. While Mozilla offers the Firefox App Store (Firefox Marketplace), users can still search for apps on a wider network. According to Mozilla's vision, users who purchase Web applications should be able to use them on any network-enabled device. The smart thing about a browser-based operating system is that it works well on PCs, and countless people can access it on personal computers.Free online services such as Google Apps or Facebook without worrying about whether they need to use Safari on an Apple Mac or use Chrome on a Windows computer. But this strategy is a bit difficult on mobile devices. Browsers on smartphones are slow to react, do not conform to network standards, and are fiercely competitive with sophisticated local applications. These challenges are further magnified in lower-end markets where performance is inherently poor. But the Mozilla chief technology officer Brandon Ike (Brendan Eich) saw the development opportunities for Firefox. While the new Kat version of Android has reduced memory requirements to 512M, Firefox has also taken the same memory compression to reduce its memory requirements to 128M. The only competitor is gingerbread (gingerbread) version of Android. Ike mentions Google's earlier launch of the 2.3 version of Android. The operating system has a lower demand for handsets than the latest jelly beans and Kat. Mozilla also learned that Google Apps and Google Play's support for Gingerbread will gradually be canceled. This will give Firefox a bigger living space. The powerful alliance of the Firefox operating system now, the Firefox operating system has appeared on ZTE's Open, LG Electronics Fireweb and Alcatel's One Touch fire mobile platform. The first wireless operators to sell Firefox handsets were Telefonica operating in Spain, Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil, German telecoms in Poland, Greece and Hungary, Telecom Italia in Italy and Telenor in Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary. We are sure to see some new Firefox phones coming up at the upcoming global Mobile show. But it is unclear what new Firefox handsets will be available in addition to the newer dual-core ZTE Open C handsets. Alcatel is also likely to launch a new Firefox phone, and LG's Fireweb phone has just been launched soon. It is interesting to see whether some of the more well-known manufacturers will follow the original promise to really launch the Firefox mobile phone. Huawei has long signed a contract, and Sony has announced that it will launch its Firefox phone in 2014. Many network operators have also signed up to become a coalition of the Firefox operating system, but most of them have so far not paid any real action. These operators include America Movil, China Unicom (Weibo), Etisalat, Hutchison Three Group, KDDI, KT, Megafon, Qtel, Singapore Telecom, Sprint, Telstra, The TMN communicates with the Russian Vippers. Why are there so many operators? First, there are already many operators around the world, about hundreds of, and secondly, manyOperators want to find a way for consumers to pay both voice services and SMS fees, as well as Internet data. They were able to upgrade their mobile phone users and let them start paying for the data at a lower price. Said Dylan. In the long run, it has also given carriers a counterweight to Apple and Google, as the two companies behind them have become increasingly influential in the mobile market, and the carrier's influence is fading. The Firefox operating system allows wireless network operators to sell smartphones without diverting too much power to the two mobile operating system giants. Long-term challenges selling low-end handsets gave the Firefox operating system a good head start, because many people wanted smartphones, but they were shy. Despite Microsoft's robust operating system, strong developer relationships and extensive online services, the development of its mobile operating system is in trouble. But as the high-end smartphone market becomes saturated, low-end markets are unlikely to be permanently peaceful. With the launch of the Android 4.4 Kat, Google has started to extend modern Android to a mobile phone with a memory of only 512M. This memory capacity is twice times the first generation of Firefox, but it means that modern Android will expand into a price-sensitive market. Another challenge is avoiding the fragmentation of the operating system. Because all kinds of Firefox phones have their own unique hardware performance and operating system version. Mozilla is already having trouble updating its Firefox phone, and the Firefox OS is now updated for three months. Now the Firefox operating system is only on smartphones, and iOS and Android have been extended to Tablet PCs. Since the Firefox operating system is a low-end route, it makes sense to start with smartphones because everyone needs a smartphone, but tablets are dispensable. Without a tablet, however, it is hard to attract developers and consumers. Firefox's operating system is ready to expand to tablet computers, televisions and other platforms. So far, however, these attempts have just begun and have not yet become the mainstream of its development. Finally, if the Firefox operating system is to achieve greater success, it will eventually have to open up high-end markets. That means it needs to compete directly with Android and other mobile operating systems. To do this, Mozilla needs to build strong partners, a huge user base, and an active developer community. This cannot be hurried. Ike says that in high-end markets, many operating systems are not yet released and are in trouble. It is not easy to compete with mature operating systems that have developed over seven years in the high-end market. In contrast, Mozilla encounters less competition in low-end markets. It can't stay here forever, but, so far, it's a good place to start.
