September 5 Morning comments The industry's focus on the "2012 Huawei Cloud Computing Conference" will be officially opened at the Shanghai International Conference Center, which is the third consecutive year Huawei held the IT industry event, attracted nearly 3,000 Huawei partners, customers and industry participants.

With the theme of "streamlining it and agile business", the conference will showcase the progress made by Huawei and more than 400 partners in the areas of it product layout, solution capability, industrial chain depth and business innovation.

As Zheng, president of Huawei it product line, said, "the integration of it and CT is further deepened, the demand for ICT systems is changing rapidly, and streamlining it and agile business has become the main melody of all enterprises in the information Age." Huawei hopes that with deep hardware and software and system research and development capabilities, rely on rich product lines and a broad global platform, can help enterprises adapt to it technology changes, streamline enterprise IT systems to support the changes in their business, so as to help enterprises in the new situation with a more agile response to win the future. ”

From the information disclosed, in addition to the idea of the sermon, Huawei will also release Fusioncube and three high-end storage products to help customers create efficient and concise IT systems to achieve agile business value of excellence. In the author's opinion, Huawei's move is nothing more than sending a few messages to the outside world, first Huawei's integration with China is successful, and the security and storage business of the company is rapidly merging with Huawei; second, Huawei is moving from integration to one-machine era, beginning to deepen the user's needs and simplify it.

Integration

The trend of integration is long, but the initiator can be regarded as Cisco. Cisco launched UCS products, greatly shaken the entire industrial chain "peaceful coexistence" basis. All the Giants in the IT field are starting to act, and there is only one---integration.

The first is HP, it successfully acquired 3COM, then curve acquisition of 3COM's most beautiful assets---h3c, and then the acquisition of 3PAR and other storage vendors, built to cover storage, server, network Exchange integration solutions, Hewlett-Packard also for its product portfolio played a relatively loud name- Instant Agile emphasizes agility and rapid deployment.

Next is Dell, which, while being set up by Hewlett-Packard in the 3PAR acquisition, has successfully acquired Force10, a high-performance Ethernet switch, plus previously purchased Exanet, Compellent and equallogic storage vendors. Dell's biggest advantage in publicizing its portfolio is based on standardization and simplicity.

Once again IBM, the blue giant's strategy for cloud computing has been blurred, at least at the hardware IT infrastructure level. Because its product line is too long, mainframe/minicomputer/x86 are involved, but also occasionally in the internal contradictions. For example, two press conferences, one saying X86 will be the future, and the other is that the minicomputer era will continue. At the same time, it should be pointed out that IBM has some disdain and the rest of the vendors to compete on it hardware functions and parameters, others have "wisdom."

The second is Huawei, which, of course, objectively says that Huawei has much to improve on enterprise IT than the previous big brothers, especially the understanding of user needs. But Huawei has also embarked on a path of integration, and, unlike the first few, Huawei's integration strategy has been more thorough, with its energy and infrastructure product lines in addition to its IT infrastructure.

Finally, Oracle, the reason to put Ellison's business to the end, is because Oracle has not only made integration, but also engaged in one machine. Use your own database, your own middleware, your IT infrastructure, your own management and security platform, your own application software. "We are unique in the industry," said Sishing, vice president of Oracle. ”

All-in-one Machine

Although the integration of the road, but the industry for one machine is a lot of discussion. Because one machine means that for the user, IT infrastructure and business are separate, you can't see or touch, everything is in that black box. Another reason is that an all-in-one machine can give users the risk of being locked out by the vendor.

But it does not deter some manufacturers from the initial Oracle to the current Huawei. Oracle claims its all-in-one strategy has been a great success, but can Huawei's all-in-one machine be so fortunate?

Oracle from the introduction of several integrated machine products, Exadata database cloud server and Exalogic Middleware cloud service, are in the "vertical integration, the ultimate performance" concept of the seven-tier architecture all integrated into. Reduce the logical level of the IT infrastructure to hundreds of times times or even thousands of times times the performance boost by breaking the gaps in the original separation.

But its strongest place is not the server, storage, IO and virtualization software (Oracle's virtualization software is also developed by itself), but Oracle's deep understanding of database, middleware and application software, it is easier to optimize their own products.

Huawei launched the Fusioncube depth integration machine, but only fully integrated computing, storage, network and other hardware equipment, as well as virtualization platform, cloud management, distributed storage engine, such as cloud computing software, to provide integrated management, automated deployment and efficient operation and maintenance functions, and through the combination of hardware and software technology optimization applications, Effectively help enterprise users to integrate and optimize IT systems, simple and easy to build a cloud computing platform.

However, in terms of technical barriers, Huawei will not in the near future large-scale access to databases, middleware and application software and other fields. But we are not worried, because Huawei's ability in software and services is also visible to the industry, in addition, Huawei and SAP, Ufida and other application software manufacturers have close cooperation to effectively compensate for this shortcoming.

From integration to one machine, just a word of the difference, but it reflects the IT giants different mentality and strategy. Oracle has been successful in its vertical integration from disk to application, and Huawei has emerged from its new approach to the IT dimension. We will wait and see what the future holds.
