While the market share of Android devices continues to grow globally, people seem less willing to use Android smartphones or tablet computers to browse Web pages or shop. According to Philip Elmer-dewitt's latest statistics, Apple's iOS system accounts for 60% of mobile network traffic, while the number-dominated Android system has only 20% of its share. At the same time, according to data released by Fab.com, a foreign e-commerce site, a creative products flash-purchase website, 1/3 of the traffic is now from mobile devices, but 95% of them are from Apple's iphone or ipad, with only 5% access from Android devices. The domestic situation is similarly very similar, in Taobao's first quarter of 2012 E-commerce report, whether from the flow or the final volume of view, Apple's iOS are in the dominant position. Volume, Taobao iOS client turnover accounted for 63%, and the transaction amount is as high as 78% of the proportion. Data from home and abroad make us think 2 questions: Who is really using Android devices? Why are users of Android devices reluctant to read (browse the web) or shop? It now appears that Android devices are used more in the shallow technology market and in the real mass consumer market, where real heavy use and shoppers tend to be more inclined to Apple. If Android users really don't care much about browsing the web or shopping, the value will be a big discount for Google. This is the biggest source of Google's profits, because it causes people to use Google search (the mobile end), especially the search for related items to be greatly reduced. At the same time, the value of Android as an app platform will be compromised for heavy app users or app developers. Android now has an overall market share of more than 50%, with Apple less than 30%. But this leading market share does not help Android capture the key segments of the market: those who really want to use the Internet and shopping through it. I do not know whether here also embodies the 80/20 law. If Android users don't care about taking their phones as a platform, but continue to be a tool for day-to-day operations such as calling or sending emails, Android's platform value is not ideal, as Google would like to see, compared to its market share.
