According to Reuters, Hewlett-Packard local time said in Wednesday that the company plans to cut 1124 employees in the UK. This is part of HP's plan to lay off 27,000 people around the world at the end of next year.

Unite trade unions said HP executives at a meeting described plans to cut staff in Bracknell, Shffield and Wharton next year. Hewlett-Packard called the slump in demand and restructuring the culprit. The number of HP employees in the UK is 15,000 to 20,000.

Hewlett-Packard spokesman confirmed the number of layoffs, but did not disclose the impact of layoffs, the company hopes to complete the job cuts by the end of January next year.

HP wants to revive growth by laying off staff and focusing on businesses with long-term growth potential, such as corporate services. Hewlett-Packard posted more earnings than analysts expected last week.
