In July, 18, a Canadian intellectual property company, Mosaid, filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Delaware State District Court on July 13 accusing IBM of violating many of the company's patents related to DRAM memory technology. Mosaid has 850 patented technologies. The company accuses IBM of violating its six patented technologies. These technical patents are numbered: 6,603,703;7,038,937;7,535,749;6,680,654;6,690,448 and 7,486,580. These patented technologies are related to different components of DRAM memory technology. IBM has violated these patents by manufacturing and selling DRAM microprocessors and ASIC products that use these patented technologies, Mosaid said. Mosaid said it had been negotiating with IBM for a long time. However, since these negotiations did not result in any consequence, it decided to prosecute IBM. Mosaid says many companies have purchased its patented DRAM and embedded memory technology. These companies include Fujitsu, NEC, Toshiba, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Oki, Panasonic, Winbond, Sony, Samsung, Heidelberg, TSMC, Infineon, Timothy, Power crystal and beauty light.
