Beijing time June 28 Evening News, according to foreign media reports, the U.S. entrepreneurial Enterprise Mspot announced the introduction of cloud-based music services. Users simply upload unencrypted music files to the Mspot server and listen to the music via PCs and mobile devices. In the Mspot service, users uploading 2GB music will be free. In addition, 10GB of storage space (about 8,000 songs) required 2.99 dollars, while 100GB of storage space (about the equivalent of 80,000 songs) required 13.99 dollars. Google also showed a similar service at the developer conference last month, but the service only supports Android phones. This means that you can't listen to music on your iphone with this service. Mspot has not yet been authorized by any major record company. Darren Xu Daren Tsui, the company's CEO, said Mspot did not have to reach a licensing agreement with the record companies because the streaming music that users listened to was theirs. But big labels disagree. So if an agreement is not reached, Mspot is likely to face a tort lawsuit. A similar service MP3tunes has been sued by EMI. But the biggest challenge for Mspot is likely to come not from record labels but from rivals. Mspot's services are similar to "cloud-based itunes", which users have long wanted Apple to launch. If Apple were to enter the field, the market would become very competitive. In addition, Google is very interested in the introduction of such services. The company announced the acquisition of mobile streaming media music services company Simplify media at the I/O conference. (D-Gold)
