Raytheon participates in cloud computing speech recognition

A growing number of companies abroad are participating in the research of speech recognition technologies supported by cloud computing, as mentioned in the iOS voice application inventory released today. Now, after Apple, Google, Vocre, the U.S. military enterprise Raytheon Company also joined the field of research.

Raytheon has recently released a voice-translation application on an Android platform designed specifically for troops deployed in the Middle East to translate the local official language, such as English and Arabic, to facilitate communication with locals.

Of particular concern is that military applications do not previously choose cloud technology, because military technology to ensure the security of data, a stable local equipment in the security can be higher protection. So cloud technology, although common in civil procedures, is often not accepted by the military. The change may herald that Raytheon no longer liked the way it had put all its eggs in one basket, and began to think that cloud technology was safer and more secure.
