Send PayPal to negotiate with Bitcoin trading service provider, or will consolidate Bitcoin payment plan

Beijing time August 15, according to the US Wall Street Journal, the people familiar with the matter said ebay's PayPal is in talks with Coinbase and other Bitcoin trading service providers, hoping to integrate the virtual currency into the company's Braintree payment system.

From the home rental website Airbnb to the car rental service Uber, there are a wide range of startups using PayPal services. PayPal has not yet reached a final agreement with the relevant bitcoin payment service providers, according to people familiar with the matter.

More and more companies are accepting Bitcoin, including US e-commerce company Overttock.com, and the deal will add more endorsement to the virtual currency. But industry insiders have warned that there is a risk because the currency is not regulated.

EBay spent $800 million in 2013 to buy Braintree, hoping to boost PayPal's position in the mobile arena.

"We believe Bitcoin will play an important role in future payments, but we have no news to announce it," a spokesman for ebay said. (PEI)
