In the past few months, I have attended Windows http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13357.html in Israel, China and India >azure Microsoft Accelerator started.
Windows Azure's Microsoft Accelerator is a project that focuses on making startups use the cloud to do big things to increase their chances of success. As you know, this is an exciting time in the software industry as we see the dawn of a new way to design applications driven by cloud technology. At the same time, we have seen the explosive growth of start-ups that represent the next generation of entrepreneurs who are likely to become an important engine of global economic growth. With the economics of the cloud and its flexibility, it would be very exciting to connect the two worlds tightly.
We decided to launch Windows Azure's Microsoft Accelerator in Israel, China and India, because we believe there is an effective combination of factors in these areas that can hatch new and great product ideas. With the rise of a new generation of entrepreneurs, combined with strong venture capital and angel investment networks, this means that emerging companies have the foundation for successful innovation in these big, growing markets. And with the global market that cloud brings, growth is almost limitless.
A few months ago, we launched the first Azure accelerator in Israel. Israel is known as a "start-up," although it has only 8 million people, it is one of the largest and most influential start-up communities in the world, and it is the largest venture capital expense outside the United States. Since the beginning of 2012, Israeli companies have seen more than 35 exports and more than 8.5 billion dollars in acquisitions. At this point, the Microsoft Accelerator in Windows Azure, Israel, started only three months ago, but it has received worldwide acclaim, such as one of the best three accelerators in Israel's business interior. More than 100 start-ups have applied to join the project and have now accepted 11. First-class start-ups have yet to complete their fundraising, and 50% of these companies have ended up raising funds or holding investment letters from investors who have met in accelerators.
Then a few weeks ago, we started another accelerator in China. China is a huge, growing and dynamic market where we are committed to the start-up community, especially the open source community. China's software and information technology industry is expected to grow at a rate of 24% a year by more than $6350 billion by 2015, and the number of servers will grow far more rapidly than in other parts of the world. This growth is unprecedented and can fundamentally change the nature of the market itself. For this, this is a rare opportunity not only to help these startups grow, but also to learn from their experiences and use the feedback they receive to improve our technology.

And finally, last week we started a third accelerator in India, where we announced 11 start-ups in more than 200 applications. Software revenues have grown from 1.2% of India's GDP to 7.5% since 1998. 2012 is also a memorable year for India's software industry, which will reach $1000 billion this year. Whether these startups build any type of software, they are likely to create many new jobs, which is key to improving India's economy. In the past few years, India has made a big stride in this area, but there is still much work to be done and there are huge opportunities.
I look forward to a number of eye-catching new companies in Israel, China and India that will be born from these Windows Azure Microsoft Accelerator projects and the US-based accelerator to be held in Seattle. The real measure of the success of this project is that the selected participating companies can accomplish something big. Microsoft is committed to making every effort to help and support the early stages of these nascent companies.
I look forward to the day when I look back on these launches, and I say, "I remember these companies in the first place, and see how well they are developing today!" "
