Microsoft is no longer cold: The ipad version of Office will be free to use

November 6--Microsoft announced in Thursday that users of the Office app on Apple's ipad will be able to create and edit documents free of charge without paying subscription fees, a move that is said to attract more mobile users, Reuters reported. This is one of the latest and most compelling strategies that Microsoft has to attract customers to use their services, whether mobile or operating, to avoid losing users who choose to use free or cheaper alternatives. The latest strategy, launched by Microsoft CEO Satinka Yas Nadra (Satya Nadella), is focused on the dominance of Windows and office on PCs and not effectively moving to a fast-growing mobile phone, while Apple's handsets, tablets and devices are mainly running Google's Android rules. Nadra's first big move after taking over Microsoft's CEO in February was to achieve office support for the ipad, a move that attracted 40 million of users. By downloading free applications, users can read Office documents such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and so on, but if you want to edit and create these documents, they will have to use the subscription service for a subscription fee of USD 7 per month. And since Thursday, this series of services will be free. Microsoft also announced in Thursday that it would release Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for the first time on the iphone and run a beta version of the apps on the Android tablet, which is expected to be fully released early next year. As the world's largest software company, Microsoft has not yet made full touch-optimized Office applications for Windows, but this week's four news release has hinted at a time to release WINDOWS10 sometime next year. Microsoft Office software is still the gold standard for running Office apps on PCs, but easy to use, touch-friendly Office applications such as Haiku Deck, Quip, Smartsheet and Evernote, and a series of Google Apps, Has captured a large number of young users who regularly create and edit content on mobile devices.
