Intel Push Mobile Messaging application: Convert user to cartoon character "TechWeb report" June 20 News, Intel Thursday released a new mobile messaging application pocket avatars. The app allows users to convert their face photos into virtual cartoon characters. Pocket avatars is now available in the US and Canada for Apple and Google Apps. The app is also designed to showcase the technology of the Intel Research and Development Division's lab, including facial tracking. In order for the mobile messaging application to be differentiated, Intel added a face tracking technique originally developed for the live video chat service in the pocket avatars. It's like a video chat via Skype, but the user will see the virtual character of the friend. With a front-facing camera and microphone, this app can record the user's voice, blink, smile, and head movements, and convert these into virtual characters ' movements. After recording up to 15 seconds of short messages, users can send them to friends in the application or share them through text, e-mail or social media. Intel also cooperates with brands such as Lego, Gumby and Pokey, providing more than 40 virtual characters. Although the application itself is free, some of these virtual characters need to be downloaded for 99 cents. It is understood that Pocket avatars is an important move by Intel Corporation to link the brand to the software. Intel says it is now taking a series of moves to change the company's image and get rid of the positioning of pure chip companies. Mike Bell, general manager of Intel's new equipment department, said: "It is not known how much software we have developed in Intel-based Maik Bell devices." So we think that this is a good way to introduce ourselves by looking at the cool things we actually develop. He also said: "This is not a one-off, nor to cause a sensation." We are very serious about this and will continue to try many similar new businesses. Previously, Intel had given up its business of televisions, smartphones and tablets. In the near future, Intel also tried to enter the market for wearable computing devices, which last March bought a high-end sports tracking equipment vendor based science, and Recon Limited, the rival of Google's glasses, in the past year. The news application market is extremely competitive. Mike McGuire, a Gartner analyst who specializes in mobile marketing, says such branding Maik Maguille will make a profit for Intel because many brands want to interact with users.
