/wendy, an overseas columnist Dylan Woodbury, using the fundamentals of the four game mechanisms shared by Seth Pribash at the TED conference, analyzes the reasons why social games attract players to continue to log in and how to introduce community mechanisms into these games, Create group feelings among players. From that, we may be able to peek at why so many people are addicted to such simple games and how to make more fun out of social networks. The text is compiled as follows: Most social games, such as the happy farm, have millions of players each day, but these games do not fully utilize social networks. Seth Priebatsch, chief executive of Scvngr, presented four game consoles at the TED conference: Engagement mechanisms, identity and influence, progress mechanisms, and community mechanisms. Over the past decade, we have established a mature social networking system that is marked by Facebook and an open social map. We are here to make the distance between people less and less, communication more and more convenient. Seth argues that the function of social networks is to connect users, and that games can affect user behavior from a deeper level, and the impact is largely intangible. Because of this, we need to understand which game mechanisms affect user behavior and how they affect user behavior. Contract mechanism: In order to successfully complete the game, the user needs in advance agreed upon the time and place to complete the task ahead of schedule, Facebook farm game Farmville is also a fan of the mechanism, users have to rush to water their crops at the hour. Identity and influence: the ability of users to influence other users ' behavior through social pressure. In the game, users also want to constantly upgrade the ability to show their own. Progress mechanism: The process of accumulating results and achieving goals by dividing a large task into smaller tasks. Community mechanism: achieving goals through teamwork. This has only recently been achieved in the biggest social game, Happy Farm, where friends have to grow a certain number of plants together in a period of time. Zynga dares to be praised for its game theory, but the community is far more powerful than it is now. The reason for the failure of cooperative planting in the happy farm is lack of competition and therefore less fun. Team-based competition can have a lot of fun, players are no longer just playing for grades or experience (progress mechanism), and must work with friends (identity and impact mechanisms) as part of a team (Community mechanism). Now to think about the structure of the game, the structure of the happy farm is actually very boring, just press a button every few hours. What if the integration of the Community mechanism will become? These ideas allow me to use the Community mechanism to design a social game, in order to interest players, keep players play the game, let them shut down the computer can continue to discuss the game. IDesigned a company-themed game: "Enterprise" (Enterprise). At the beginning of the game you have two choices: Start your own company or join someone else's company. You can join your friend's company and the company owner will assign you a position. Depending on the size of the company or your relationship with your friend, you will be assigned a position that includes ordinary (like a farm), creative positions (a series of ideas to attract investors), research-oriented positions (through survey test ideas), advertising positions (promoting your own company), Social positions (working with other companies), management positions (supervising others), etc. Individual workers can gain experience by completing a task, obtain the approval of the company owner, receive additional bonuses, earn a weekly salary, and have a minimum wage for each position. Working a team, can raise the company's share price, the stock price changes every week, the company's owner can hire, fire, pay bonuses, upgrade a worker, a worker demoted, on the other hand, workers can work together with the company, can also protest against the company, can also be done immediately after the pay off. As the company grows, new job opportunities and options will emerge, including partnering with other companies. If a company's stock price continues to rise, people (including friends and strangers) can buy shares in the company, the company can pay dividends and send investors progress reports to attract more investors, which is also a factor affecting the share price. The great thing about this game is that it creates a huge sense of teamwork, a mechanism that allows players to continue talking outside the game. At work or at school, people can continue to discuss strategies with other players, everyone in the same boat, everyone working for their own level of experience, and working for personal experience to apply to a larger company or start their own business. In any case, it's just a game example of a community mechanism that includes individual completion elements, designed to provide a little bit of inspiration for creating a more meaningful game structure.
