The results are from the findings of the US ESA (http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/9405.html > Entertainment Software Consortium). ESA is a video gaming trade association in the United States, with members covering top game publishers such as Atari, Capcom, Eidos Interactive, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Square Enix, and so on.
"Today's gamers contain millions of of Americans of all ages and backgrounds," says Esa. So many audiences have driven the tens of billions of dollar industry to move forward and provide job opportunities nationwide. ”
U.S. consumers spent 24.75 billion of billions of dollars on video games, hardware and peripherals in 2011, with digital content accounting for nearly one-third, 31% and 7.3 billion dollars in game sales in 2011.
The survey also found a surprising finding that 47% of American gamers are women. Not only that, the proportion of women over the age of 18 to the total number of players was 30%, or even higher (18% per cent) than men aged 17 and below.
