The average American game player is about 30 years old and women account for 47%.

The game is not a child's patent, in fact, the average American player's age is 30 years old, and has been playing games for 12 years. The average player who buys the game most often is 35 years older.

The results are from the findings of the US ESA (http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/9405.html > Entertainment Software Consortium). ESA is a video gaming trade association in the United States, with members covering top game publishers such as Atari, Capcom, Eidos Interactive, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Square Enix, and so on.

U.S. consumers spent 24.75 billion of billions of dollars on video games, hardware and peripherals in 2011, with digital content accounting for nearly one-third, 31% and 7.3 billion dollars in game sales in 2011.

The survey also found a surprising finding that 47% of American gamers are women. Not only that, the proportion of women over the age of 18 to the total number of players was 30%, or even higher (18% per cent) than men aged 17 and below.
