A few years ago, when it came to drones, many people's first impressions were of American "predator" or "Global Hawk" Military drones, a concept that had nothing to do with civilian use. Since last year, The Courier and power business giants such as Amazon and UPS announced the drone distribution plan, as if the drones were not so far away from civilian use. Imagine that you're climbing the mountain and you want to eat a KFC burger, and the drone can help you get it done.

Drone ban lifts Amazon's beauty!

Amazon's last year's video on the delivery of an unmanned aerial vehicle has earned its eye, but it has not moved on to the drone's civilian ban. Recently, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Committee lifted the civilian ban on unmanned aircraft. As a result, the Amazon drone is out again and is expected to be officially commissioned in 2016.

The UAV is mainly for customers within 30 minutes of the journey. Its security needs to rely on "induction and avoidance" technology, but many researchers say the technology is still in the early stages of research and development. In addition, delivery unmanned flight also need to solve the load problem, because it will carry a lot of things, such as powerful power systems, cargo, satellite positioning equipment and small computer chips.

In addition to the technical safety of shipments, civilian drones face challenges of privacy, and this year CES unveiled miniature drones that can be used for candid cameras. But it is certain that if the UAV is really widely used, it will inevitably set up a regulatory authority.

We spend a few seconds on the phone to buy things, can be delivered to the door in a few minutes. Cities are becoming more and more automated, and you'll see an optional delivery system like a small delivery carrier that can send anything anywhere. said that the delivery of the carrier will have a variety of shapes and sizes. Some should be able to walk through the alleys to avoid traffic jams. Others can refrigerate food.

A recent report by BI FDI, a market research institute, points out that the global commercial drone market will rise gradually in the next 10, and that drones will also serve as private security, crop management, aerial advertising and other roles, as well as the progress of the GPS and sensor manufacturing industries.

Generally, it's normal to wait 30 minutes for takeout. But books, clothes and groceries usually take at least 24 hours, often up to 2 to 5 working days. If Amazon could do this, Wal-Mart and other retailers, including Google, would probably do the same. The launch of UAV will give a new meaning to the "electric business War".

Google Intelligent Robot clamoring Amazon

Under the stimulus of Amazon, Google is also speeding up the development of his Robot Express. Earlier this year, 9to5google reported that Google is developing a "mini unmanned delivery system" to serve Google Shopping Express and deliver its services on the day in San Francisco and surrounding areas.

To tie in with the use of Robot Express, Google is speeding up negotiations with large retailers and courier companies to establish the same day to allow consumers to shop online, the day of receipt of low-priced services.

In addition to Robot Express, Google in the field of intelligent robot ambition is also very large, the footsteps of the purchase of robot companies can not stop, just two months to acquire more than 10 top robot companies. The robot represents Google's ultimate dream. Google is a company that likes to do "impossible things", and even one of these bizarre projects is enough to change the world. At present, many of the future of the technical imagination, robots are very few, the prospect of a consistent optimistic technical field.

Google engineering executives predict that robots will be smarter than most people in the next 15 years.

Too many sci-fi movies let us think of robots as Superman. In fact, the robot is not far from us. A variety of large shapes of mechanical arm and other products, has been widely used in manufacturing. With the improvement of image recognition, speech recognition technology and map matching, robots will become human helpers in more fields. Foxconn has previously worked with Google to study how to better use robots in manufacturing to improve efficiency.

Intelligent robot for Google is an arrow more carved. Technological advances in the field of intelligent robots, such as automatic driving, image sensing and voice recognition, will help Google further refine its product maturity on driverless cars and wearable devices. At the same time, the robot applied to the real life, can collect a lot of data, to help Google understand the user needs, Google's search and advertising and other main business will have direct promotion. For Google, it is an industry camp that is bigger and closer to the real economy than the Android ecosystem.

Google unmanned vehicles to carry out the robot to the end

Google's unmanned cars have already possessed the shadow of some intelligent robots.

Unmanned vehicles will "see" the road conditions and control vehicles through cameras, radar sensors and laser rangefinder, using detailed maps to collect a large number of elements, such as the current location of a user, traffic routes.

For example, through the camera automatically identify and monitor traffic lights, and can automatically send information to users. It can be combined with geographical data to calculate the location of each signal, and at the same time through a number of cameras to identify the front of the traffic lights, or only the opposite vehicle lights.

Google is using driverless cars to launch a new service. Google based on its own research and development of a set of patent algorithms, to investigate the advertisers bid, customer history of consumption, so as to determine whether to provide unmanned car door-to-door, the customer sent to the location of advertisers. For example, a Las Vegas casino in the United States wants to fight for a customer, and Google will calculate the customer's past consumption history and consumption time, and determine whether to send unmanned cars to the home for pick-up.

Compared with ordinary cars, driverless cars have a high degree of recognition and reaction speed. Google can achieve more flexible manipulation through background data, network control, application of intelligent software, and interconnection with the cloud platform.

However, driverless cars are still facing many challenges. Among them, security has become a big concern outside the world. For example, the computer operation of an unmanned car in Google is based on strict compliance with traffic regulations, but it may encounter unexpected situations from a variety of reckless motorists. Google will need to put more tests into practice in the future.

Currently, Google has been working with Toyota to launch a hybrid Prius unmanned vehicle model, Audi TT is also carrying the Google unmanned system, and on the California Highway for the first trial, the current Google unmanned vehicles have been driving more than 300,000 miles.

Facebook drone pk Google hot air balloon

In addition to Amazon, Facebook is also laying out its own drones, except that the product he delivers is a network. Foreign media reports Facebook is planning to buy Titan, a solar-powered drone maker, 60 million dollars. Titan will provide 11,000 unmanned aircraft for this purpose.

The solar-powered drone stores enough energy after sunrise and then uses the internal battery pack energy to launch at night. They are able to fly for 5 years in near-Earth space 20 km away, using their own communications, surveying, atmospheric sensors and other equipment to play the equivalent of satellite functions, but compared to satellites, the cost is lower. Facebook wants to use drones to spread the Internet to developing countries and regions that have not yet paved the ground.

This is a lofty mission, but more interestingly, the move means Facebook will now compete directly with Google's hot-air balloon interconnection project, Whye. Google's Whye hot air balloon project has been in beta testing since 2011, using a cruise weather balloon in the stratosphere to transfer network signals to special receivers on the ground.

Drones and hot-air balloons have their pros and cons, and when it comes to flying farther away, drones are clearly more reliable because they consume less power. Hot-air balloons are slower and less durable, but relatively safe. If the drone crashes, it will cause a lot of damage.

In the location of the search, the drone is also better. But drones and hot-air balloons are likely to be offset by strong winds of up to 100 miles per hour in the stratosphere.

However, the Google Hot air balloon has its advantages. The flight of dozens of or hundreds of drones in sovereign national airspace could be questioned by the local government. In contrast, the Google Whye project will not offend other countries, at any time, the Earth has more than 70,000 air balloons flying. Given the history of the US spying on drones, many countries may be uneasy about allowing private drones to fly in their airspace, even if Facebook promises to do nothing other than provide Internet access.

For the open stratosphere, this is a land of untapped gold that will be invaluable in the coming decades. Clearly, Facebook and Google are already eyeing it.

In short, the fourth industrial Revolution, represented by smart machines, is coming, and all sorts of surprises will be possible. The mission of Science and technology is to lead mankind to the future indefinitely. For the technology giants such as Amazon and Google, in addition to all kinds of benefits, into the research and development of intelligent robot is a mission, to change the contribution of human life is obvious to all.
