US social gaming maker Zynga recently announced it has acquired Area/code, a new york-based independent gaming developer, in the early hours of January 22, Beijing time. Area/code has previously collaborated with Ubisoft, an entertainment firm, to develop social gaming csi:crime city on Facebook platforms.　　Area/code will become Zynga's gaming studio in New York. Since Zynga was founded, the company has been actively engaged in acquisitions, with 9 acquisitions in the past 8 months, including Chinese game maker XPD, German platform game developer Dextrose AG and social web browser flock.
