Beijing time December 2 according to. AllThingsD Web site reported that cloud software company Evernote Current number of users has exceeded the 50 million mark, the company recently changed its business development strategy, plans to sell hardware products, including with Fujitsu developed a scanner. AllThingsD website reporters around the enterprise version of Evernote, hardware product development planning and brand positioning and other issues interviewed Evernote company CEO Fille Liebing (Phil libin), the following is an interview summary:
1 AllThingsD: First, let's talk about your cooperation with Salesforce.
Fille Liebing: We launched the Salesforce version of Evernote,salesforce1, the company's new mobile platform. Before, users embed Evernote in Salesforce Web page applications, and users can see notes related to Salesforce records. Now we have a mobile version of the application. With the integration of Salesforce and Evernote, users can link the customer information, mail, competitive analysis, Web collections, and rich notes in the corporate version of the impression notes to the records in the Salesforce to get a clearer picture of the customer. Evernote Business is growing faster and owes much to the cooperation we have begun a few weeks ago.
2) What is the difference between Allthingsd:evernote Premium and Evernote Business?
Fille Liebing: At present, Evernote business's biggest competitor is the free edition Evernote, they will "conflict" with each other. Evernote business is mainly for enterprise customers, it is more like a team product, can help users better understand the work status of other colleagues. If Evernote Business is a video game, Evernote Premium is a single player, and Evernote Business is a multiplayer game.
3) AllThingsD: You announced a lot of hardware products at a conference in San Francisco in September, you will Evernote as a life brand, can you give me a specific talk about your ideas?
Fille Liebing: We are now working to speed up the release process for these products. I've told employees inside the company that it may sound strange to launch physical products, but it's not surprising that they become commonplace in one day. We want to build Evernote into a modern knowledge class brand, we hope that Evernote can help them improve their productivity, we hope Evernote become your ' external brain ', so we first choose to work with paper notebooks, stationery manufacturers Moleskine, It is progressing well. Later, we worked with 3M to bring the convenience sticker into the electronic world and to provide the electronic convenience paste function. We now sell a better product is Evernote scanner--scansnap. This is the first physical product we have developed in 2 years.
4 What is the difference between the ALLTHINGSD:SCANSNAP scanner and other scans?
Fille Liebing: We have worked with a number of different scanner companies. We want to build the best scanners in the world, and to achieve customization in every way. We work with Fujitsu on product shape and texture. We want to remove the software and CD drivers that are configured on the traditional scanners. It's simple, you buy it back, plug it in and you can use it.
5 Allthingsd:evernote is essentially a software company and now you're starting to sell hardware scanners, what's your idea?
Fille Liebing: The sale of physical products is a breakthrough in the traditional model, but on the other hand, it is also an inheritance and continuation of the company's core business model and customer base development. We just started trying to sell ads, but then we abandoned the strategy. We decided to sell real products to make money. We don't want to do data mining, we just want to create products that people are willing to pay for. This kind of crowd is the modern knowledge class that supports our brand, they think Evernote can help them. From software to hardware to content, I think there's no problem, because we can get revenue directly from it.
6 AllThingsD: Is this the so-called capture of the core user base?
Fille Liebing: We set up this company 5 years ago. We hope to build it into a hundred year start-up company. We can't predict what the product will look like after 95 years. But we know that we have to move towards the product direction in 95 years. We want Evernote to be the most important brand in the world, like Nike. As long as the focus on brand building, products are naturally natural.
7 AllThingsD: Those fields you can't touch?
Fille Liebing: We also have areas that we can't touch, we can't do all the things we can make money, because some things for us, do is against the integrity. Everything the user puts on the Evernote is private. We may miss a lot of opportunities for money, such as socializing, content or entertainment. But we just want to create products for the world's fastest growing social class, the modern intelligentsia. 20 years ago, if I said intellectual workers, I was referring to bankers and journalists in New York and London. Now the scope has been expanded.
