Beijing time November 22, according to foreign media reports, Google Chrome OS release has been postponed, and the platform will not be used in the next few months in the netbook. The company's CEO, Schmidt, has explained quite a number of issues at the Web2.0 Summit held on November 15, and said the Chrome OS will continue to target keyboard-equipped devices. Although he did not give a reason for the delay, he clarified rumors that the Chrome netbook was released this month. Chrome OS is a network operating system that Google plans to use on netbooks to replace traditional operating systems such as Microsoft's Windows and Apple's Mac systems. Mr. Schmidt again stressed that Chrome OS will support applications running in Chrome, which has accumulated more than 70 million users. Google has open its Chrome OS code a year ago, claiming that some of its partners ' netbooks, such as Acer, ASUS, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo and Toshiba, will be released in November 2010 or December. Just this September, a Google spokeswoman revealed that Chrome OS is basically ready and that the company will provide an update later this year. Some computer makers have been consulted by the media about plans for a Chrome OS netbook. Hewlett-Packard declined to discuss, and Acer said there had been no recent plans to release a Chrome OS netbook in the United States, and Dell said it had no updates.
