The US toy company Hasbro (Hasbro) and social game developer Zynga said in Thursday that the two sides would jointly develop solid toys and game products based on Zynga's famous social game, FarmVille, and other products.
The two sides have reached an agreement that Hasbro will pay a licence fee to obtain the license to use the content of Zynga's games. The games will include many of the popular social games that Zynga has launched on Facebook, such as "CityVille" and "Words with Friends". But neither side has disclosed the specific fees that Hasbro paid for these licenses.
The two sides said the agreement would allow two companies to jointly develop commodities linked with Hasbro and Zynga brands, with the first commodities expected to be available this fall.
More than 227 million active users are now logging on to Zynga's online social games every month.
The popular game "Angry Birds" developer Rovio has sold millions of angry birds stuffed toys, and the company's own launch of the "Angry Birds Knock Board" (Angry Birds:knock on wood) desktop game has been for several months in the Amazon (Weibo) Shop in high ranking top selling.
