07 video game online download service revenue increased 3 times times

Video game online downloads are exploding in popularity, according to a new study published by market research firm IDC.　　2007 Global video game online download service revenue will increase three times times, from 2006 133 million U.S. dollars to 583 million U.S. dollars. IDC predicts that by the end of 2007, more than 31% of North America's network-enabled video game consoles will become active online game downloads, with a number of 14 million.　　By 2008, the number of video games consoles for online gaming, including the Xbox 360, 3 and Nintendo Wii, will be over 37 million. Although traditional retail software and electronic direct content will increase significantly in 2007 compared with 2006, the latter is growing faster, IDC said. Sales of physical game consoles will grow by 19.5%, with content sales increasing by 1029%. Online subscription sales will grow 158%. IDC analysts said that in 2007, the vendor-proprietary online gaming Machine network provides game-related content downloads to $296 million trillion. Subscription revenue will increase from $107 million trillion in 2006 to $277 million. Although the 2007 physical game software sales revenue will increase from 2006 of 8 billion U.S. dollars to 9.5 billion U.S. dollars, but the vendor's proprietary network sales to the game download content is still the gaming industry in the hardware cycle of the biggest growth opportunities.
