Xinhua Beijing, December 15 (Xinhua Wang Yudan Rongyan) Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu 15th dismissed foreign media reports that "China does not need developed countries to cut emissions" and expressed the hope that developed countries would provide new, additional, adequate and Predictable financial support. According to reports, Deputy Foreign Minister Yafei in an interview with the Financial Times, said China does not need to cut emissions from developed countries. ' This understanding is clearly incorrect, ' Ms. Jiang told a regular press conference. On the subject of funding, she quoted Yafei as saying: "China understands and attaches importance to the special concerns of the least developed countries, small island States and African countries, and supports these countries in prioritizing the use of financial resources to cope with climate change." Jiang said it is well known that the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change stipulates that developed countries have an obligation to provide financial and technical support to developing countries in coping with climate change. We still insist that developed countries should provide financial and technical support to developing countries to improve their ability to cope with climate change. But the fact is that the commitment of the developed countries has remained on paper for more than more than 10 years. Developing countries are sceptical about the sincerity of developed countries. Under such circumstances, China has taken a large number of active and effective policies and measures to deal with the weather change, and has achieved remarkable results, Jiang said. "If we can get enough international support, we believe China will do a better job in tackling climate change and protecting the global environment," he said. "The amount of money promised by the developed world is very different from what the developing world is looking for," she said. We believe that the need for developed countries to effectively meet their obligations under the Convention and to finance developing countries is an important condition for ensuring the success of the Copenhagen Conference.
