At present, our country uses the 3G three standard to have two big standards to need the GPS time service, causes our country communication security to leave "the back door". But with the development of Beidou satellite technology, this "back door" will be called "Patch". Reporter Lu Xiaohui reported in the ordinary impression, the GPS effect is equivalent to the navigator, but few people know that GPs in people's daily life has a more important role. The United States recently upgraded GPS, its direct consequence is China Telecom CDMA Network Alarm, the scope of the vast majority of provinces in China, but did not cause network interruption and delay in order to affect user use. The two major networks affected by GPs are U.S.-led positioning systems. It is reported that the United States to upgrade maintenance is trying to change the configuration of the GPS constellation to improve the accuracy of the system. Because CDMA relies on this system in the realization of network synchronization, the communication base station using CDMA technology needs precise time control of GPs, so when the GPS system is upgraded, the CDMA network will be affected. China Telecom is responsible for network optimization related people said: "GPS upgrade maintenance, resulting in the CDMA network in some manufacturers of the base station equipment in the alarm mechanism set every 12 minutes have 1 seconds of lost star phenomenon, the network is a large number of network alarms, but this will not affect user use." "Some equipment operators said that even if there is no GPS timing, can also protect the network 72 hours of maintenance operation, will not be paralyzed." But our country's CDMA network had been paralyzed in the period of China Unicom because of GPs. In addition to China Telecom, China Mobile is also affected, but less affected. China Telecom CDMA2000 and China Mobile TD-SCDMA are synchronous systems, all need to set up GPs in the communication base station in order to achieve network synchronization. However, since March 2008, China Mobile launched the "TD-SCDMA System GPS Replacement Program" and other technical work, and actively get rid of the U.S. GPS dependence. On the one hand, China Mobile works together to explore the use of 1588v2 instead of GPS clock transmission technology, and the construction of a packet transmission network (PTN), to achieve the timing of the GPS program; On the other hand, using China's autonomous Beidou satellite as a time signal source, the Beidou satellite and GPS satellite dual mode timing and mutual primary standby, the final realization of the source of time signals and transmission of two aspects of the combination to get rid of the dependence on GPS. Although China Mobile has a two-pronged approach, it still hasn't completely solved the "backdoor" problem caused by GPs communications. Experts say that PTN only solves the problem of time synchronization between nodes, the network nodes are numerous, the coverage is too large, and eventually need a clock source, and now the network is still a universal choice of GPs as a clock source. Although China Mobile is trying to spare the Beidou satellite system developed by our country, it is very difficult to find a substitute for GPs because there are too few service stars in our Beidou system. Due to the different number of users, the GPS upgrade to China Mobile madeThe effect is very small. As of December 2009, China Telecom CDMA total users reached 56.1 million, and China Mobile TD-SCDMA users of 3.41 million, the impact is much less than China Telecom. In this case, China Unicom was the only unaffected. China Unicom operates WCDMA from the European Union, the EU in the development of 3G early attention to avoid being subject to the United States, so WCDMA for asynchronous systems, do not rely on GPS timing. Beidou hit the "Patch" GPS upgrade incident, the industry said, CDMA alarms, TD-SCDMA still did not completely solve the timing problem, which indicates that the key technology of communication network security in China is still basically dependent on the United States GPS system, there are great security risks. A week after the incident, China's Xichang Satellite Launch Center will be the third Beidou navigation satellite successfully into space orbit, satellite network is planned to advance, which means that the Chinese version of the GPS Beidou satellite navigation system engineering construction has taken an important step. It is reported that China is carrying out the construction of Beidou satellite navigation system, will launch 5 geostationary satellites and 30 non-geostationary orbit satellites, built to cover the global Beidou satellite navigation system. Previously, China has successfully launched 4 Beidou navigation test satellites and 2 Beidou navigation satellites. According to the construction plan, 2012 years or so China Beidou satellite navigation system will provide the ability to cover the Asia-Pacific region first, around 2020 years to build the Beidou satellite navigation system covering the whole world. At present, there are four global satellite positioning systems, the United States is the global satellite navigation and positioning System GPS, Russia's Gronas GLONASS system, the European Galileo system under construction and China's Beidou system. GPS is the United States after 20 years of spending more than 30 billion U.S. dollars in the establishment of the global satellite positioning system, following the Apollo and the Space shuttle program after the third big space plan. China satellite navigation system Special Management Office said that the Beidou satellite navigation system to provide open service and authorized services, two services, open service is to provide free positioning, speed and timing services, positioning accuracy of 10 meters. Beidou navigation system will be mainly used for economic construction, providing efficient navigation and positioning service for China's transportation, communication, meteorology, petroleum, disaster forecast, public security and other special industries. The Big Dipper Satellite navigation technology company related person said that China's satellite navigation application in recent years has developed rapidly. China must have autonomous satellite navigation system, which is also the significance of establishing Beidou system. Market Consulting agency Analysys International analyst said the Beidou system is expected to break the U.S. dominance of the global satellite navigation system pattern, so that China's communications network in the realization of synchronization and so on to get rid of the completely dependent on the GPS system situation. Experts believe that, due to related technical issues, China's 3G three standards in the use of the two standards require GPS timing, so that China's communications security left behind the "back door." But with the improvement of Beidou satellite system, this "back door" will be called "fillDing ".
