Another 4% of the respondents said that increasing their spending on Twitter would be their most important policy. Although most users access Twitter through desktop devices, the microblogging service continues to play an increasingly important role in mobile social networks. According to Twitter's official data, the site's mobile user traffic increased by 62% over 4 months, while the percentage of mobile registered users grew from 5% to 16% earlier this year. In the survey, 16% of companies chose to increase Facebook's exposure, 14% chose to increase their blog PR, 5% chose to create exclusive content on YouTube, and 3% chose to increase the use of social games. Public Relations Weekly and Minth PR found that while American marketers rarely use specific mobile social media tools, the gap between desktop and mobile devices is shrinking for many users as smart devices evolve. Most mobile marketing programs rely on geo-location data to provide the user with information when they are close to the store or consider buying a product. While pure geolocation services such as Foursquare are relatively niche, Facebook has introduced this service, and social networking has become one of the most widely used mobile apps in the past few years.
