Toshiba said the Himeji Semiconductor plant, which shut down for 8 days from last year's New Year holiday, will not be shut down for production this year, and the number of downtime for Oita's New Year's Day holiday will be halved from 6 days last year to 3 days.
Toshiba Himeji Semiconductor Factory mainly produces motor PC power control chip, Oita factory mainly produces image sensor and system integration chip (systems LSI).
On October 31, Toshiba fixed its semiconductor revenue target for the year (April 2012-March 2013) to 855 billion yen (minus 13% per cent) from 1.08 trillion yen, with its memory sales targeting from 580 billion yen to 460 billion yen (minus 16% per cent), System-integrated chips have been trimmed from 300 billion yen to 240 billion yen (minus 9% per cent) and discrete components from 200 billion yen to 155 billion yen (minus 8%).
Toshiba said that in the second half of this year (October 2012-March 2013) Semiconductor business revenue estimates will be reduced by 5% to 454.6 billion yen, of which storage sales will be reduced by 10% to 252.8 billion yen, the system integration chip will be reduced by 1% to 124.3 billion yen, discrete components will increase by 9% per year To 77.5 billion yen.
