origin
Towards the end of the Second World War, people suffering from war were desperate for peace and tranquility, and eager to establish a collective security mechanism to safeguard world peace and security.
On April 25, 1945, in San Francisco, the United Nations Constitutional Assembly was held grandly. After two months of discussion and negotiation, the General Assembly finally adopted the "UN Charter" and the "Statute of the International Court of Justice" on June 25.
Fifty-three plenipotentiaries from 50 countries, including China, have signed the Charter today. These signatories have become founding members of the United Nations.
On June 26, the Constituent Assembly officially came to an end. This day was the United Nations as "Charter Day."
